Alliance Française of Saudi Arabia and the virtual exhibition ''Happiness''

The Alliance Française of Saudi Arabia is honored to present the virtual exhibition "Happiness" by the artist Houda Bakkali. By embracing this digital platform, the artist transcends the spatial and temporal boundaries of physical exhibitions, by bringing together diverse audiences around an artistic vision that is both accessible and universal. For the artist, digital art represents the present and the future, allowing the telling of immersive and evolving stories. Through augmented reality, she creates captivating and unique environments where the viewer is actively engaged, allowing the artwork to evolve over time.

 

Houda Bakkali 

Houda Bakkali is a visual artist renowned for her vibrant, feminine works, which embody a universal and accessible vision of art. Since 2008, she has been exhibiting in public places such as Adolfo Suarez Madrid Barajas International Airport, making her art available to a wider and more diverse audience. A pioneer in her field, Houda Bakkali uses new technologies to create interactive and immersive works, as she did in Monte-Carlo in 2020 when she exhibited the first augmented reality canvas at the first Contemporary Art Fair. 

Her mastery of augmented reality has enabled her to push back the boundaries of art, offering viewers around the world a unique experience in which the work evolves over time thanks to exhibitions in Spain at Paradores, in the town of Soria, in Barcelona at the Cercle Royal Artistique, in San Remo at the Musée des Fleurs and Casino, and at the Alliance Française in various countries. 

Committed to and invested in education, Houda Bakkali has developed a project on digital art, augmented reality, audiovisual content and virtual workshops on new technologies in six civic center’s run by Barcelona City Council.

Furthermore, in 2009 she produced an educational and informative project on communication and health, highlighting the effectiveness of the link between art, technology and communication. Widely recognized, she has won three American Illustration Awards (New York), the International Motion Award (New York) and the New Talent Award at the Festival International des Artistes du Monde in Cannes. Her work has also won awards from London International Creative, the Paris Design Award, Creative Quarterly (New York), and four Silver Awards from Graphis (New York). She was also selected by the prestigious TIME magazine for her first web3 artistic initiative.
